Have you ever looked up at the night sky and thought ‘Wow!’, but wished you knew a bit more about it? Astronomy is a fascinating and rewarding hobby, there is no requirement to be an ‘expert’ or a ‘top notch’ scientist, or even to buy huge amounts of expensive stuff to get going. All you need to start with is an interest in looking up at the night sky and a wish to know more about it.
Ashford Astronomical Society are very friendly and welcoming, they meet on the last Friday of the month at Woodchurch Memorial Hall at 7.30pm where they always have a very interesting talk covering a variety of topics related to astronomy. Whenever the sky is clear there is also an opportunity to look through the telescopes at the night sky.
