Dolmen Building Conservation is a team of highly skilled craftsman, founded by Peter Massey in the late 1980s. Peter is one of only a handful of people to have won the English Heritage Angel Award (2011 – Best Craftmanship). Dolmen is a family run operation that centres its principals on quality and integrity.
Dolmen has worked on a range of scheduled ancient monuments and grade 1 listed buildings. Dolmen client list include the Society for the protection of Ancient buildings (SPAB), English Heritage and the Church’s Conservation trust.
Tom Massey is the senior carpenter for Dolmen, he studied BA Hons Fine Art at Brighton and has over 20 years experience as a carpenter. In 2014 Tom Massey completed the SPABs William Morris Craft Fellowship and is on the case work team for the SPAB.
Dolmen runs its own sawmill and workshops specialising in curved timbers, quarter sawing and air dried beams, from their own managed woodland in Kent.
